October 10th Report Cements Patrick Kennedy’s Standing as
Grassroots Leader in Ward 2 Council Race

Washington, D.C. – Ward 2 D.C. Council candidate Patrick Kennedy released the following statement:

“The Fair Elections Program has allowed us to run the campaign we want, one focused on connecting with neighbors in their homes and on the streets. I’m proud of our efforts and grateful that well more than half of our 160 plus contributors this reporting period are from Ward 2. With growing support from community leaders and Ward 2 residents, I am certain that ours is the campaign best-positioned to bring change.” 

Facts about Patrick Kennedy’s campaign:

  • In this reporting period, 87% of contributions were from District residents, with the overwhelming majority from Ward 2

  • On target to maximize funding from the Fair Elections Program, with over 160 contributors this reporting period and more than 400 contributors in total

  • Interest spiked after the Ward 2 Candidate Forum, where Kennedy showed his depth of experience and knowledge on local issues

  • Nearly half of the neighborhood-level elected officials in Ward 2 have already publicly endorsed Kennedy

  • All of the above was achieved with volunteers based in Ward 2 without paid staff, consultants, or dedicated office space
